As many of you know, the eBusiness and Channel Strategy research team maintains a panel of businesspeople to help us get to the heart of the issues that are most pressing for you. We send online surveys to interested panelists each quarter on a variety of topics ranging from The State Of Fraud In eBusiness to the 2009 Cost Of eBusiness Operations And Customer Acquisition.

Earlier in 2009, we published panel research that uncovered The Recession’s Impact On 2009 eBusiness Plans. We found that:

  • Despite a weak economy, more online budgets were going to increase than decrease.
  • Spending on eBusiness wasn’t going to grind to a halt.
  • Unsurprisingly, economic factors were the biggest challenge for 2009.

We’ve also published research titled Taking The Pulse Of eBusiness Organizations, in which we uncovered that:

  • 42% of panelists represent the only eBusiness team at their company.
  • eBusiness continues to report into Marketing.
  • The Web channel has grown in importance over the past five years.
  • Less than half of panelists feel that their offerings are mature or best in class.

It’s time for us to update this research, and we’ve recently fielded a survey combining questions on the two topics: 1) How the ongoing economic downturn is affecting eBusiness efforts and 2) how companies support eBusiness budgets and staffing.

So, what’s this all mean? We have a great opportunity to provide you with year-over-year data when we publish the results of this data, which we hope will inform you and help you make business decisions in 2010 and continue to justify investment in your eBusiness and team-building efforts.

Please take our survey today. It should take you less than 20 minutes to complete, and as always when we do publish the results they will be in aggregate only.

Please don’t hesitate to email me with any questions about the survey – or with ideas for topics for next quarter and beyond!
