Kevin Avery

Principal Analyst, Forrester

Kevin has been an enterprise leader and management consultant during a career of three decades. He has held executive-level sales and marketing positions at mid-market companies and an early-stage software firm.

Prior to joining Forrester, Kevin was worldwide sales vice president and chief of staff at Here Technologies, a leader in location intelligence, where he developed transformational strategy and introduced world-class talent and operating practices. Before that, at SBI, a boutique consulting firm, Kevin advised CEOs and functional leaders across sales, marketing, product and HR. Kevin’s clients ranged in size from $17 million to $6 billion across myriad industries, and he was also a subject matter expert in channels for the firm.

At Cisco Systems, while driving strategy for specialized sales groups, Kevin designed, deployed and mentored an integrated “guided sales execution” program that netted over $100 million in competitive displacement bookings with a 90% win rate and zero no-decisions. Kevin still draws on his roots as a sales rep. Eventually rising to vice president, sales at Spanlink, a software company and integrator, he was their top seller for four consecutive years.

Kevin holds a BA in psychology from Harvard University.
