Michael Roberts

Chief Marketing Officer, Retail, Vanguard

Michael Roberts is a principal at Vanguard and chief marketing officer for the Retail Investor Group (RIG). He is responsible for RIG’s product and service strategy along with the marketing strategy and execution across paid, owned, and earned channels to support the needs of individual investors.

Before joining Vanguard in 2018, Mr. Roberts was chief marketing and digital strategy officer for Bank of America Merchant Services, the third-largest merchant services business in the world at the time. In this role he oversaw all aspects of product, pricing, marketing, technical sales, digital channels, and overall strategy for the joint venture between Bank of America and First Data.

Previously, Mr. Roberts spent four years in various marketing roles at TIAA. Prior to TIAA, he held various positions at Citigroup, AlixPartners, Capgemini, and Ernst & Young.

Mr. Roberts earned a B.A. in music from Dartmouth College and a M.M. in voice from Boston University.
