It’s hard to believe almost a year has passed since our last Summits for CIOs in Asia Pacific. Our team is ramping up preparations to this year’s CIO Summit series and I’m looking forward to meet you at the events which will kick off in Sydney on August 14, Singapore on August 19 and Mumbai on August 21. Themed “Beyond IT: Empower Digital Business in the Age of the Customer”, Forrester’s 2014 Summits will focus on the significant shift we’ve seen in CIO’s traditional focus from the design and deployment of internal systems focused on process control to digital products and services for their customers.

Of particular importance on the digital journey are three domains: customer experience, the mobile mind shift and the transformation of big data into actionable business insights. Each of these topics will feature prominently at the Summits with select analysts flown in to delve deeper into how CIOs can overcome some of these challenges through Forrester guidance.

In Singapore and Mumbai, digital business analyst Martin Gill will explain why “The Future of Business is Digital”. While in Sydney, Forrester’s eBusiness principal analyst Julie Ask will share insights from the Forrester book she recently co-authored: “The Mobile Mind Shift”, and customer insights analyst Fatemeh Khatibloo will outline how CIOs can “Turn Big Data into Business Insights”.  The events will also feature our regional thought leaders, including: Michael Barnes, Tim Sheedy, John Brand, Fred Giron, Clement Teo, Manish Bahl, Katyayan Gupta and Nupur Singh Andley to share insights from local research.

If there is one piece of feedback that comes back consistently it is that our CIO attendees love to hear from their in-country peers. As a result, we have spent a considerable amount of time lining up a distinguished panel of CIO speakers from the region’s leading organizations. We are thrilled to be joined by Andrew Lam-Po-Tang, CIO/CTO at Fairfax Media; Travis Tyler, Head of Mobile at Westpac; Julian Carroll, Executive General Manager at Sunsuper; Dr. Arne Jeroschewski, VP of eCommerce at DHL Asia Pacific; Milind Khamkar, CIO of Sanofi Aventis and Bishwanath Ghosh, CIO Mahindra Mahindra.

In conjunction with the Summit, we will be releasing new research at the event that covers the state of digital business in Asia Pacific, which will provide analysis on how firms in the region currently stack up in the world’s digital business landscape. While there are some early pioneers, the new research will serve to help regional CIOs struggling to drive digital business success in their organizations.

The Forrester Asia Pacific team is counting down the days to the events and as always, we’re most motivated by helping our clients stay one step ahead and move the needle for their businesses. We hope to see you in a little over a month!
