Forrester clients and non-clients periodically ask to record or transcribe sessions with Forrester employees, including through AI transcription or note-taking tools. These guidelines indicate Forrester’s position regarding such requests.
Please note that the Artificial Intelligence Policy explicitly prohibits training an AI tool with recordings, notes, or transcripts taken from a conversation or session with a Forrester analyst or uploading or inputting these materials into an AI tool.

**Permission to record a consulting engagement must be approved at least two weeks in advance of the engagement. For more details, please talk to your consulting engagement lead.
In addition to these guidelines, it is important to note that:
- With the exception of licensed replays, recordings must be made on Forrester’s platform. Upon request, Forrester will distribute the link after the call. Recordings will be deleted after 60 days.
- Forrester may allow exceptions to this policy for issues like accessibility. Please talk to your engagement lead if you seek an exception.
- Participation in any recorded call implies your consent to be recorded.
- Forrester employees can choose to not be recorded or stop a recording at any time.
- All external use of recordings, transcripts and notes is subject to Forrester’s prior written approval, except for licensed replays or as otherwise agreed by Forrester in a client agreement. Any use of client recordings, transcripts and notes are also subject to the terms and conditions in any contractual agreements between the parties and Forrester’s policies, such as its Citation Policy and Artificial Intelligence Policy.
- These guidelines cover requests from clients and external parties to record the listed interactions. Forrester may also request to record or transcribe interactions. If these requests are approved by the client or external party, Forrester may use the recordings or transcriptions for any internal purpose. Forrester will only share the recordings with clients or external parties if the recordings are allowed by these Recording Guidelines. Clients and external parties may only use the recordings in accordance with these Recording Guidelines.
