Sankaran has been with the City Union Bank for the last 26 years and has grown through the ranks, currently he is the General Manager & CIO of the bank’s IT department. Sankaran comes with rich experience in all facets of IT like implementation of core banking, managing hardware infrastructure, defining digital roadmap for the bank, defining various strategies for improving the business of the bank by bringing in the right solution, information security management and IT outsourcing.

He was instrumental in implementing the stand alone banking solution in the initial days and subsequently implementing the TCS Quartz solution. Sankaran has been instrumental in increasing the transaction counts by about 95% through digital channels by business process re-engineering and operational centralization and achieved more control.

Sankaran is a learning enthusiast and loves to upskill himself.  He has completed various learning programs on banking , financial  management and IT operations conducted by RBI, Institute of Bankers and executive training program by IIM- Ahmedabad. Sankaran is a Graduate in Mathematics from Bharathidasan University, junior associate of Indian Institute of Bankers and a diploma holder in computer applications.
